We gather information from parents and also from observing children to help drive lesson planning and the curriculum. This understanding of each child becomes the interest of our daily curriculum and defines the types of activities and experiences we presented through deliberate classroom planning. Child-centered learning is focused on the child’s needs, abilities, interests, and learning styles with the teacher as a facilitator of learning. This action creates a concept of the child having their own role in the learning process. We use information from each family, the child’s interpretations, and other experiences to develop personalized goals for children that include experiences and behaviors that are challenging, yet achievable. Once combined, all of these traits lay a strong foundation for your child to achieve their highest level of cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
